For the GS-06 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level; OR one full academic year (18 semester/27 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level coursework that is directly related to the work of the position (such as Business or Public Administration, or other administrative or management fields related to the position being filled). The education was obtained in an accredited college or university; OR an appropriate combination of graduate level education (such as Business or Public Administration, or other administrative or management fields related to the position being filled) that is directly related to the work of the position and specialized experience. The education was obtained in an accredited college or university. Examples of specialized experience are:
Assemble monthly expenditures for operating budget reporting; review correspondence for grammatical accuracy; provide visitor information to customer; purchase, receive and distribute supplies and special order items, including reconciling purchases in a database and monitoring when additional supplies needed to be ordered. For the GS-07 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level; OR one full academic year of graduate level education; Major study -- public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled; OR an appropriate combination of graduate level education (such as Business or Public Administration, or other administrative or management fields related to the position being filled) that is directly related to the work of the position and specialized experience. The education was obtained in an accredited college or university. Examples of specialized experience are:
Collect and analyze budgetary information and statistical data for use in the formulation and execution of budget requests and reports; Purchase supplies, equipment, and services; Create travel orders and vouchers; Compose, type, and proofread correspondence, and narrative and tabular material (i.e., databases and spreadsheets). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT:
If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
